Architecture
PREMINER is based on a client-server concept and enables unique distributed data mining thanks to its access server model.
Data import
The individual database access servers of the access layer provide read/write access to the following databases:

Server DB: Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL, Interbase
■
File DB: dBase, Paradox
■
Files: text files, Excel, SPSS
■
any ODBC or JDBC database.
Analytical functions
The PREMINER server offers the following functions which can be configured via the client (data pipe editor):

Temporary storage of data for quick access later
■
Scheduled running of complex preprocessing sequences (scripts)
■
Transformation of values via built-in programming language
■
Interactive configuration of SQL commands for preprocessing on the database
■
Linking data from several different databases via joins in the server
■
Calculation of statistics for exploratory viewing of data within the framework of data mining
■
Customised and automated reporting
■
The use of PMML stored data mining models as filters.
Results and export
The imported data is stored in different databases or text files using the appropriate access server.
In addition, PREMINER features automated report generation.
